Tom C. Christenberry As a senior partner of the Academy Leadership Associates, LLC (ALA), Director of Public Safety Education, and Assistant Professor in the School for Adult Learning at the University of Indianapolis, Tom teaches courses in quality management and leadership theory. After serving twenty-five years, Tom retired as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in January 2003. The last fifteen years with the Bureau, he was assigned to the Training Division, where he was a full-time trainer and public speaker in police-media relations, crisis media, effective communications and management. Dr. Christenberry developed and managed the FBI’s satellite and distributed learning initiative, which was responsible for delivering asynchronous and synchronous training to over 30,000 FBI employees via a virtual academy network. Tom also works with LQ Strategies, Inc. as a corporate trainer and performance coach in the areas of individual and team development, as well as communication and leadership skills. He is the Chair of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security Emergency Management Higher Education Advisory Board, a member of the Campus Safety and Emergency Preparedness Committee, and the Federal National Institute of Justice Technology Working Group on Modeling and Simulation Technology. Dr. Christenberry earned a BA in Social Studies from Purdue University, a MS in Educational Administration from Butler University, a second MS in Human Development (Adult Learning and Human Resource Development) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), and a PhD in Human Development, also from Virginia Tech. |
